1986 Paris to Hayling Charity Cycle Ride

Pete McQuade decided to do a solo ride as part of a series of fund raising initiatives that he and his friends organised for Cot Death Research. This followed the death of a friend's baby daughter. He was a novice cyclist and indeed had to go and buy a bike. He was very worried in case he failed to complete what he assumed was a one off ride.

2009 Paris to Hayling Cycle Ride The committee is already looking at the options for 2009, but since the new routes and destinations for Ride 2008 were such a success, we are likely to go for the same or similar routes, with ‘tweakings’. We are unlikely to go to Gorron next year, but maybe in 2010, which is their 10th anniversary of the twinning.
