1987 Paris to Hayling Charity Cycle Ride

Funds Raised: £3,500 Number of Riders: 18

Some of Pete's friends (including Paul Fisher) suggested that if he would do the Ride again they would join him. A few others entered and a group of 19 plus a 3 person support team set off. After having riders and bikes transported to Paris the plan was to ride to Rouen and then on to Le Havre the following day. However participants had no route notes and only one standard Northern France Michelin map between them. They survived this adventure despite getting mixed up in a siege outside the Iranian Embassy in Paris, inadvertently straying on to the motorway several times and losing the keys of one of the support vehicles.
