1990 Paris to Hayling Charity Cycle Ride

Funds Raised: £23,000 Number of Riders: 120

There were 120 riders and 10 support crew on the trip and again record sponsorship sum was raised In total we had now helped over 30 charities. Kevin Crocker recalls the pre-ride night in Paris.

'We had a good night in Paris that year. I remember we met up with some French people who had couple of guitars and started promenading down some side street or other in the Pigalle area singing our heads off. The inhabitants of one of the houses overlooking the street were obviously not impressed and so they hurled buckets of water at us. This didn't put us off though as we just switched songs and gave our rendition of 'Singing in the Rain'.

2009 Paris to Hayling Cycle Ride The committee is already looking at the options for 2009, but since the new routes and destinations for Ride 2008 were such a success, we are likely to go for the same or similar routes, with ‘tweakings’. We are unlikely to go to Gorron next year, but maybe in 2010, which is their 10th anniversary of the twinning.
