1992 Paris to Hayling Charity Cycle Ride

Funds Raised: £14,500 Number of Riders: 121

In 1992 we changed the second day route to Rouen - Caen. This was a big step at the time since it involved a last day of over 90 miles a massive increase on the previous 60.

French Lorries blockaded our route as part of a country wide protest against something or rather. Nobody remembers whether it was diplomatic negotiations or one of the riders shaking a fist at the then and shouting "The Tommys are going to get you!" but either way the fiendish 'camioneurs' let the Ride's coach through and it we made it to the French Capital.
