1994 Paris to Hayling Charity Cycle Ride

Funds Raised: £17,500 Number of Riders: 140

This was the second year that we had switched from the June/July to September but the cold wind ensured we reverted to a summer ride in 1995.

A notable first time rider was 66 year old Ernie Bateman. From then until 2003 except for one year he would be the oldest riders in the event often proving him a fitter cyclist than those years younger. It's not clear what his secret was but maybe the beer with which he filled his water bottles had something to do with it!

In December we held our first December Ride. Now the Father Christmas Ride involving fifty plus cycling Santa is one if the highlights of The Paris To Hayling calendar.
