For the first time for many years this is to take place at the Newtown House Hotel, in the new function suite, on Friday 3rd of April. This is after many years in the Sports Hall at Seacourt, where have always been well looked after and sometimes have had more than 100 guests in the past. Since many riders are now sending their fundraising directly to their chosen charity(ies), often via JustGiving, the online sponsorship website, rather than via ACE, our charitable organisation, we have decided to change the format of the evening to reflect this. We shall only be inviting charities and branches of charities local to Hayling, as well as those beneficiaries nominated by ACE, which are overwhelmingly Hayling-based. This means that it will be a more intimate evening, with no more than 30 or so representatives expected, as well as riders, support crew members and other invited guests. We look forward to a good evening!
FUNDRAISING FROM RIDE 2008
We are very pleased to say that the sponsorship money is coming in well from this year’s ride and we confidently expect to reach the cumulative total of £1,100,000, with over £68,000 already been recorded as collected. There will still be funds available for local deserving causes, so it may be worth writing in, if you feel that you have a special case.
ENTRIES FOR 2009
Due to the high demand for participation in the ride these days, we designed the new entry form early and made it available as a download from our website, the net result being that we already have over 140 entries and expect to be at capacity of 200 within the next couple of months. So – if you want to be with us, it’s best to get your entry form in!
