| BIKE RIDE REUNION & AGM 2009 AT THE NEWTOWN |
Our annual Reunion Party is once again to take place at the new Function Suite at Newtown House Hotel on Friday 6th November at 8pm, preceded by our AGM at 7pm. We expect to have a large number of riders and support crew at the Party, but perhaps fewer at the AGM! Tickets are £10, to ‘Paris to Hayling’ and include a hot buffet and entertainment – all welcome! |

Yes, it’s that time of the year again, meaning that we are looking forward to a jolly day’s cycling on Sunday, 21st December. We always have a great time just before Christmas, when we dress up as Father or Mother Christmas and go cycling in and around Hampshire and West Sussex, visiting welcoming hostelries and imparting seasonal cheer. Three more ‘recces’ have now taken place in advance of the event in July, in the attempt to ensure that our new great endeavour goes as smoothly on our new routes and destinations as it has in the past, when Paris or Versailles were our focus. The annual Charity Cheque Presentation Evening at Seacourt takes place this Saturday, 5th April. Kerry West has been extremely successful in chasing the sponsorship collections and there is now only about £4,000 outstanding of the £105,000 pledged from last year's ride, including Gift Aid, which means that over £100,000 has been raised, for the second time. |

A lot of fun was had by all on Sunday December 16th, when dozens of cycling Father and Mother Christmases descended upon a number of hostelries in West Sussex, imparting Christmas cheer, before returning back home, via the Ship at Langstone. Hayling Island Sailing Club was this year the venue for a well-attended Reunion Night for riders and supporters on Friday, 2nd November, preceded by an equally well-attended AGM. We have now agreed upon a slogan for next year's 23rd event 'Le Tour de Tours'. This is to echo the name of 'Le Tour de France', the cycling world's premier event and to reflect the fact that we shall be visiting Tours, the beautiful main city of the Loire region, but not Paris or Versailles, for the first time in the ride's history.
