Brief description:

Thurs 29th April

Meet early evening at The Ship and Castle for overnight crossing to St Malo.

Friday 30th April

Ride from St Malo to Fougeres (about 50 - 55 miles). This will be the longest day. Fougeres is a very pretty town about 20 miles south of Ducey and 20 miles west of Hayling's twin town Gorron..

Saturday 1st May

Ride north to the town of Vire (about 50 miles). Some of you will remember Vire from The Gorron ride 3 years ago but we are approaching and leaving from different directions so will not be retracing any old routes.

Sunday 2nd May

Ride north again to the picturesque town of Bayeux. (only about 40 miles). The shortness of the day gives plenty of time to explore the town and visit sights such as the tapestry.

Monday 3rd May (The Mayday bank holiday in UK).

A short (less than 30 miles) ride to Ouistreham via some of the Normandy beaches Return to Portsmouth by the afternoon ferry arriving back in Portsmouth during the evening.

Payment details.

Cheques should be made out to CC2CC as for past rides. If any unforeseen costs arise or the £ takes another dive against the Euro I may have to ask for a supplement but this does not seem likely at this stage. Please send cheques to Fred Dyer at 71 Sinah Lane, Hayling Island, PO11 0HJ.
